I was experimenting yesterday. Here are my results:
1. We start with pulseaudio (it's default install in intrepid, i think you
don't have to use anything)

issues:
* if I set up ALSA as sound recorder, then sound-recorder hangs up (as for
Rocko).
* wine sound is noisy if i use alsa (oss is okay)
