I installed 10.04 a week ago, and I can verify that I still have this
problem. It didnt occur to me then, but I connected my laptop to the TV

Yesterday I installed uim-qt and uim-qt3, and after the install I
noticed that my apps using qt stopped working. The apps would start, but
the GUI would not show, and a ps -ef | grep [process name] would show
that it was doing something.
Today I removed uim-qt and uim-qt3 (v
I installed Intrepid a month back or so, and this is the first time I
try to use k9copy since then. I used k9copy previously with the same
hardware on Gutsy, it worked fine.
My DVD units are both internal, so I'm afraid I cant test turning them
off.

1) Start computer, wait till gdm login screen comes up.
2) Log in via gdm
3) Press red button in upper corner of default ubuntu hardy screen, and select
"Log out"

Same problem for me. I just upgraded to Heron, and I've noticed that
Xterm sometimes works and sometimes does not. For example, I just tried
all the xterm commands which tadowguy filled in in the first post, and
they sometimes worked, and sometimes did not. (yes, I re-ran them a
couple times).
Rig
I feel like a dork- reported the bug in the wrong category. Ill see what
I can do to move this bug.

I just upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy Heron, and I noticed that xterm
(/usr/bin/xterm) does not work after a while.
After booting the system, it works fine. I walk away, and when I come
back (some hours later) the program segfaults. Im not sure

alright, found the problem. Booted in on a systemrescuecd I had lying
around, and found that /boot/grub/menu.1st was set incorrectly- the root
partition was set to (hd2,0) instead of (hd0,0).
Seems it has something to do with that which I noticed when installing
the first time, that the primary di

Installing gutsy server (downloaded today, the 13th of October,
ubuntu-7.10-rc-server-i386.iso) on an intel machine. The machine has the
following disk config:
sda1 raid
sdb1 raid

I just realized that I didnt write that I did not select 'wobbly
windows', nor did I select 'workspaces on a cube'. Just for the heck of
it I selected 'wobbly windows', and the problem seems to be gone.
That is, the titlebar never went greyed out and unselectable when I
turned on wobbly windows.
I can also confirm this- I just installed feisty fawn on a clean system, and
when desktop-effecs is enabled I get the same result (sometimes) from
double-clicking on the titlebar. I also get it sometimes when clicking on the
maximize button. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N19P, with an intel graphics co

Im afraid Im not running edgy on that machine yet, but Im beginning to
suspect that its not the fault of kclock.kss on breezy.
The fault occurs whenever a screensaver comes up- regardless of which
one. Im guessing that it might have to do with BIOS's energy saving
functions. Not confirmed,

well, I think its the xinerama anyway. I had just installed it using the
'add/remove' icon in the Applications menu. After it finished installing
I clicked on its link in the menu.
