but might it be that udev kind of overwrites the keyboard when trying to
add a printer on every available USB-port? I don't know how to check
that myself.

USB keyboard works at startup (I can choose my OS in Grub) and then does
nothing when KDE is running. Unplugging it and plugging it back into
another port makes it work again.

Ok.. I wrote about the removal of the USB to PS/2 converter just 10
minutes ago, but the problem simply came back again. I'm puzzled, how
can the problem be solved by such an action and then just come back
without any obvious reason at all?

Strangely, when I removed the USB to PS/2 adapter and connected the
keyboard to USB the problem was solved. So the problem lies either with
the PS/2 port or converter or with the communication with the PS/2
port... The former possibility sound more likely even if still a bit
strange. It would mean

It happens with the arrow keys themselves. The numeric pad is acting
fine. When I turn off NumLock the numeric pad functions as it should as
well, so it can take over the task of the non working keys (eg 1
becoming End and 6 becoming right arrow). It doesn't have any effect on
the arrow- and navi-k
