Using Ubuntu 24.04 on a Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU and moving
constantly the mouse inside a gnome-terminal with powertop running, the
gnome-shell process wakes up ~100x/sec and uses ~100ms/s CPU time!

Following circumstance caused the strange behavior:
When the root disk went full, I tried to free disk space by deleting the
content of the /tmp directory (sorry, I forgot to mention this).
... and when using apt-btrfs-snapshot and doing a 'apt update' the btrfs
partition will be mounted under /
Yes it still happens even with recent Ubuntu and Linux Kernel (5.1).
I guess it's neither a Ubuntu nor a Linux Kernel problem but a bios problem of
the Dell Precision 5520 but unfortunately I have no Windows installed to
verify.

On my Notebook (T420 w. 12.04) the problem disappeared by replacing the
WLAN-Router (old: DIR-635, new: DIR-645) but the new router still allows
all n/g/b protocols.
So it seems to be a race condition which appears only on some routers (I
assume as Prada a Intel linux driver bug).

Same problem on a Thinkpad T420 with a Ultimate-N 6300 (rev 35) WiFi
card since 12.04 .
If the WiFi is reconnected after failing without reloading the driver,
the problem happens much faster again as if I unloaded/reloaded the
iwlwifi driver by modprobe before reconnecting.

The problem happens only when the outgoing interface is a wlan inteface but not
on the eth interface.
2)
When tracing the ip traffic with wireshark, the timeout happens on a DNS query
for "Type=SOA Name=local Class=IN"
This DNS query is sent only when connected

Possibly the deleting of all the mysql tables occurs because I have an
invalid table 'tcexam9.bak' in the mysql data directory, which i copied
long ago manually for testing reasons.

After executing "sudo pm-suspend" the logfile in /var/log/pm-suspend.log
showed, that a a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d/ causes an error when trying to

On Ubuntu 9.04 (upgraded from 8.10) my Dell D630 doesn't enter suspend
mode - it returns immediately back to the Password Dialog.
Maybe because of the intel on board graphic because syslog shows following

Different behaviour on my Interpid (updated today):
gfs-mount on commandline also doesn't work:
Though the nautilus shortcut will created the directory ~/.gvfs/ stays empty
