I've ran across this issue using local repos with non-standard ports.

certain modules within django are missing their corresponding __init__.py's
therefore python does not recognise them as proper modules.
particular examples: django.views.generic module
I obtained the following backtrace, by attaching to the process.
Nonetheless, i had to SIGTERM the process for gdb to stop. I obtained the
backtrace, and even then gdb didnt kill the process.

The gnome-appearance-properties process hogs processor, even after closing the
window.
its necessary to kill the process for it to go away.

same problem. moved from America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires
to europe/berlin worked fine
Could it be related to +/- gmt settings?
so far all related reportes ocurred on -x GMT

I've the same exact problem, i have alternately installed xfce4.4 from
the xfce.org installer, and don't have these problems.
Both Xfce-desktop and xfce-menu-plugin, progressively use more memory.
Eventually rendering xfce practically unusable. In my experience each
has reached around 250/300 Mb
