Hi Dennis, I can confirm this workaround. Removing ubiquity-slideshow-
ubuntu package the install finish without problems.
I found this problem on two different AMD based CPU computers (old
computers).

I installed the system with
ubiquity --no-migration-assistant
the installer finished but without telling me "installation successful"
i installed manually grub, created my user and passwords
after that I purged all ubiquity* packages remained on the system...
I don't know why the installer have do
I have the same problem.
