The apn setting is taken from the settings I used with an earlier
Huawei modem (E392) that did work on this computer.
I have indeed tried the present modem on a windows machine to verify
that it worked at all. I just tested again, and managed to get a 4G
network connection using online.telia.se. I
Possibly relevant: someone reported success in getting an E3276 to work
on ubuntu 14.04, by upgrading to usb mode switch 2.2 (I have v 2.1 right
now), and/but also got a different device ID (12d1:14fe) with lsusb than
the one I see.

... and no luck browsing, or finding any mobile broadband in the network
manager.

This problem affected me (wired network worked on 12.04, but not on 13.04,
wireless worked on both). But then went away after a reboot (not the first

I have a Fujitsu lifebook (P771) running Ubuntu 12.10, and did not experience

I have a similar issue with a Fujitsu Lifebook P771. I installed an
extra battery, which charges as expected (according to indicator lights
on the computer), shows up as not present in the power indicator, but is
present in the dmesg output.

After some reflection, I think my previous post is not relevant to this bug.
I am however able to reproduce the original behavior ("Enable Mobile Broadband"
becomes unchecked at reboot), also on my 32 bit netbook.
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 11.10
Release:11.10
$ apt-cache
I am also affected by this I think: although I have checked 'connect
automatically' in the mobile broadband connection settings, I still have
to activate the mobile broadband connection manually every time.
