It's possible that the problem is caused by moving back and forth between screens 5 and 6 of the installer. Here's why: I was able to install Ubuntu on the system described in my previous comment (2006-11-05 08:43:56 UTC). In this successful sequence I did not go back from screen 6 to screen 5. (S
