I have some information that may help. I'm having the same or similar
problem in Arch Linux, so this is probably an upstream issue from here.
If I go to Kickoff->Applications->Settings->System Settings, the KCM is
missing for me as well. Additionally, the IM Presence widget that I had
in my panel
I was updating from oneiric to precise when I saw this issue.

I'm glad to see Gwibber is able to post to facebook again, but now it's
prepending "is" to my messages. While this is intended behavior by the
programmers, not EVERY facebook user uses that messages schema.
No software change to my XP machine - but this time it sync'd! Suggests

Could it be a (minor) variation in the response(s) from Ubuntu-one that
the client on our PC's doesn't properly handle? The curiosity is that

I have the same issue on my home-built machine. I have two IDE hard
drives. One has a /, /boot and /home partition for Edgy and two NTFS
partitions for Windows. The other disk has two FAT32 partitions.
I have previously installed Edgy on this setup using the alternative CD.
