Well bummer, finally found a "solution". Had to install ubuntu 10.10
back! Let us know when the natty version is functional.

Having the same problem with Dell Inspiron 9400. S-Video worked flawless
with Ubuntu 10.10, now its not working at at under natty, although for a
brief milisecond there, when pressiing Fn+F8 the desktops background can
be seen on the TV, but only for a milisecond or two.
