I also find the removal of type-ahead very frustrating. I think an
option to re-enable it should be available.
In my opinion the previous behavior was more intuitive: if I wanted to
search fo something I would have used the search function at hand.
Before it was possible to discern the two things,

fixed both the problem of the two special keys for brightness +/- and

I don't have the power indicator problem on my HP Folio 13 with Ubuntu
13.04, but I have the problem of the two special keys for brightness +/-
as well as the wireless adapter toggle not working.
It appears the patch provided in

I had this problem on my HP Folio 13 both on the old Ubuntu 12.10 and
the new Ubuntu 13.04.
I have fixed it by editing /etc/default/grub and changing:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
into:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_backlight=vendor"
And eventually by running:
sudo update-grub
sudo reboot

I had the same problem trying to install raring-desktop-amd64 on a 4GB
pen drive using Universal-USB-Installer.
In my case I think the problem was the drive was physically damaged.
What I did to fix it is:
+ I checked the pen drive for errors;
+ I did a format (not quick), restoring the allocat
Definitely the ':' character in the file name was a poor choice. My
proposal would be to use "-MM-DD HH.MM.SS.png", but it would make
much more sense to just let the users be able to customize it.

The problem is not disappeared, I saw the artifacts again.
I don't know whether it's related but I have also noticed when I was in
terminal the 'e' caracter was replaced by a '_' in the file listing, in
the file content and in the command prompt. I moved the terminal to
another desktop and the 'e'
When I have run that a dialog showed the message "No additional
information collected" and back on the terminal "Package xorg-server not
installed and no hook available, ignoring".
As for the hardware details, I have attached the output of "lshw -html".

I have tried to connect to a SIP account (specifically voipcheap) in
Ekiga 3.2.6 on Ubuntu 10.04 and got the following error:
Could not register (Transport error)
I did the following:
- Edit / Accounts
- Accounts / Add a SIP account
Name: VoipChe
Same here on an Asus X53S (F3Sa): crash looks identical, happens every
time on 2.6.32-20, while 2.6.32-19 works fine.

After applying Ubuntu 10.04 today's updates the system fails to boot. It
worked fine until yesterday. Now just after the operating system choice
through grub and selecting the latest Ubuntu Linux 2.6.32-20, the
following errors appear on screen and the system freezes:

Same problem here: when I try to install it using Ubuntu Software Center
I see an error dialog showing the message "Package dependencies cannot
be resolved"
Using apt-get from command line I get the following message:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gnome-gmail-notifier: Depends
I had the same problem with Inkscape 0.47 and Ubuntu 10.04.
- downloaded UbuntuLogo.svg from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Official
- installed Ubuntu logo by running "sudo apt-get install ttf-ubuntu-title"
- opened UbuntuLogo.svg with Inkscape 0.47
- removed the Ubuntu name and changed it to so
