I also am seeing this crash and it left a lock on a cache dir that disabled
updates until restarted.

This is actually a followup from '[Bug 329556] Re: Intrepid Nvidia
driver setup, not working‏'. As previously reported, I had tried
installing 180 with no joy previously and reverted to installing from
EnvyNG which recommends 173. So today, I gave it another whirl with the

PCI:1:0:0, so I'm not sure why it doesn't get initialized. All the
modules and driver appear to be present per this log ( as much as I can
tell). I didn't find anything relevant in the NVidia driver README so

I've had both displays going before but currently only the primary gets
recognized and set to 1280x1024. The second display doesn't get recognized

I've been having problems with Intrepid initializing my NVidia-8800-GT.
System has a single graphics card with 2 monitors. I realized I had
problems after initial clean install last weekend, so I re-installed
from liveCD. Used Sys/Admin/HW_Drivers to install 177. No errors
reported, but driver does
Same problem with 173 and 177 on a 8800GT. I also tried the manual
install of 177.80 from NV web site. Also noticed that displayconfig-gtk
isn't around any more which was handy for setting the dual monitors
without NV support. This is clean install from liveCD 8.10 this week.
