I also have a new Asus U43F with a freshly installed Ubuntu 11.04 and I have the same problem as Armandoj-93. When I try to suspend, either with the menu or by closing the laptop, I get a blank screen, but the fans are still on and I can't get the system to wake back up. As with those above,
