It appears that the UP and LEFT buttons cannot be held down at the same
time...
On a 4 workspace (default) setup...
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DOWN+RIGHT. (Pressing DOWN+RIGHT at the same time).
2. Press CTRL+ALT+UP (and hold down on all three buttons) then try to add the
LEFT button.

Assuming I have exactly the same problem (I have a Lenovo 3000 N200),
upgrading to Maverick has improved things for me.
When I plug my headset in now, the front speakers are silenced. There
are only two situations where this doesn't work:
a) If the headphones are already inserted when the machine

Ok, so I then ran the commands, the first ran fine - the second
complained the file didn't exist, so I installed the netbeans package
again via synaptic.
Now it starts :)
Only minor thing is in the Programming menu in Applications, it's still
listed as NetBeans IDE 6.7.1, with no logo! I can live

I have iwl3945 with all updates too. Same problem. If the switch is done
quickly, it works. If not, it won't come back on.
Also, if it is off during boot, it can't be enabled. The above only
happens if it's switched on at boot time.
