Binary package hint: xorg
With the latest versiuon of Maverick the boot process displays "UBUNTU
10.10" then the screen goes blank and there is no disk activity.
This happened three days ago, before that everything was ok.
If I remove nVidia drivers, the logon screen appear
Solved in Maverick adding i8042.nopnp kernel parameter.

Had the same problem on a Sony Vaio VPCF12C4E with 10.04, solved adding
"i8042.reset i8042.noloop" kernel parameters.
After upgrading to 10.10 RC the problem persists and the above
workaround no longer works.

WORKS! Sorry about the previoous mistake, but oly the -bin package was
available at first time.
I make a complete removal of previous packages and installed calibre-bin
first and calibre after and it works.

fabrice_sp: I am NOT able to set preferences. If I hit the Preferences
button appears the error, then General preferences. If I hit other
buttons (Interface, vonversion...) in the Preference window, appears the
error and the right side of the window display always General options.
I have AMD64 and
Confirmed on 64bit AMD platform after fresh install of calibre.
Impossible to use.
