longer experiencing the crashes. So I did some GIT bisecting, and it turns out

about the following set of symptoms on the exact same machine with a _slightly_
tweaked BIOS configuration:
- In BIOS, I set the Internal HDD as 1st in the boot priority
- The status-quo is the same: whenever I reboo

I've encountered this issue while upgrading from Lucid to Precise. That means
that the issue is likely still present in Precise.
The upgrade process botched and now I can operate Ubuntu only from a chroot
environment. (For the discussion on the ML see [1].) The first error that
arises is

Another thing: as I am not using the S12 any longer (graphics card
died), you can close this bug report as far as I'm concerned. But this
doesn't mean, the system clock is working on that machine. It means
only, I am not using the machine anymore and I cannot test any new
kernels.

I'm having the same problem on Ubuntu 11.04 64b with Gnome 2 and the
proprietary nVidia drivers for a nVidia 9600 GT. I've also tried the
latest nVidia and X versions from the xorg-edgers PPA, but to no avail.
The Xorg process starts at ~50MB and after a while it randomly jumps to
500-700MB in a ma
I've upgraded to sshfs 2.3 using Lekensteyn's PPA (

hangs when uploading several large files over a sshfs connection over a
wi-fi, just like in the bug's description. Is it fixed for everyone
else? I'm running Natty, by the way.
A note: the above mentioned was tested and done in Arch Linux. The file
/etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf doesn't exist on my Kubuntu system.

I have installed Arch Linux on the maschine and observed the same behaviour of
the wireless card as on Kubuntu: it was down on boot.

Hi and thanks for the reply. The inactivity comes from the fact that I didn't
had any other information to provide.
I recently installed opensuse 11.2 on this machine and I observed the same
behavior, except that the system clock wasn't automatically adjusted when I
connected to Internet. Yester
After the update 2.6.32-20 is working on Toshiba Satellite L-40. Thanks!
