I'm not sure how it got to that desktop where the crash report appeared the

+ To get live usb running I have to kill gdm-binary in terminal and when this
restarts everything works

Binary package hint: xorg
Connecting external monitor then opening dispay preferences causes
lockup when desktop effects are enabled. Once frozen, hard restart was
needed.
Can replicate and workaround is to disable desktop effects before
opening display preferences.

Is this similar to yours? This too won't screenshot.
It happened on resuming from hibernation.
I'm running jaunty beta, have intel 945, compiz and UXA acceleration enabled.
If its different I'll open a new bug.
