I have not had this problem with the new version. The problem seems to
have been caused by me changing the hostname and domain of the system
incorrectly. Once everything was put back to the original Apt began to
install properly again.

I had this issue at work on 8.04 Kubuntu w/ Ubuntu-desktop package
installed. It appeared to be after the -19 update as well.
My issue was with Nano, though I did not test ls or dir. I was getting
segfaults in some locations and not others. I performed an strace and

I'm guessing it's related to the 5/29/08 updates. Yesterday I was able
to open my local vmware server 1.05, but today it crashes. I try to
start the program and the "Starting VMWare Server Console" appears on
the bottom bar, but then disappears without opening the program.

I would like to comment that I am experiencing the same issue using
Ubuntu 7.10 fresh install with the exchange option enabled. I am unable
to delete my email, and doing so causes an immediate crash.

This is occurring for me with Edgy. It seems to happen with my HP
LaserJet 1200. I'm running CUPS 1.2.4-2ubuntu3 and OO.o 2.0.4-0ubuntu2.

I dist-upgraded my ThinkPad (T41p) to edgy and every time I boot the
process stops for 3 minutes before continuing. Disabling the splash and
quiet kernel param options shows no progress after it loads the trackpad
firmware. Occasionally if I Ctrl+C it will interrupt some pro

I'm using an ATI Radeon 9200 SE (RV280) with the ati X.org driver and
have a 17" Sony LCD (SDM-HS73) connected via the VGA port on the
graphics card.
Since trying out Edgy the splash no longer works. My display shows that
the vertical refresh is outside of the range supporte

So because there aren't an en_US translations for all those packages,
there are all sorts of failed opens when I strace GNOME/GTK apps. For
example (taken from an strace of gnome-terminal):

Any time a library is loaded the loader tries to access
/etc/ld.so.nohwcap before opening the library. Shouldn't this result be
cached instead of doing it potentially hundreds of times? Or is this a
side effect of using strace?
