I am using Lucid and I have Dell M1530.
When volume of microphone is set to 100% it is almost inaudible.
gnome-volume-control let me rise the volume up to 150% which is still not
enough.
With paman (PulseAudio Manager) I can rise it up to 480%. 200% is fine.
Workaround:
1. sudo apt-get install pa
I have just upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10.
There is still "Services" option in Administration menu. When I click it, it
failes because services-admin can not be found.
If you remove services-admin, you also ought to remove this menu item.

In my Ubuntu 9.04, I had to do "sudo aa-complain cupsd". Now it works
ok.

For me, it works now in 9.04 Beta very well.
Bios version a8 and no "i8042.nomux=1".

I can confirm.
Dell XPS m1530 with a8 bios.
On 8.10 final touchpad works as crazy.
After adding "i8042.nomux=1" it is ok, but a bit to slow.

I think that this issue has already been resolved.
I didn't tried to do this for 2 months, but now it seems to work 100% OK
for me. I am sorry, but I do not have time to check what have resolved
the issue.
I have fully updated(also with proposed updates) Ubuntu 8.04. I did not
reinstalled it.
