I confirm this. After clean Intrepid install my sound gnome applet always shows muted volume after each reboot. I'm using alsa (personally I don't like freaky pulseaudio). I added amixer -q set Master 85% unmute amixer -q set PCM 85% unmute to /etc/rc.local, but it is temporary solution. It l
