Sebastien, After manually starting gdm using 'sudo gdm' I get the same
issue. Gdm starts, i see the new gdm login theme load up with the box
asking for my username, the username box then quickly disappears and I
get the message "Authentication Failed". After that no keyboard or mouse
buttons have a

Thanks for your quick reply. Ctrl-alt-fn has no effect. Also for
clarification: the mouse does move and the ok button does react to it by
turning the orange colour when clicked but it has no other effect.

This patch doesn't work for me.
I get the same symptoms before and after installing the patch. Upon
starting the encode acidrip says it was interrupted by the user. Here is

right up until an update released sometime around early april late
marchish. It was working beautifully, mind you it still had to be
manually selected by the user.

using alsa and is not capable of using pulse. It's causing the same
symptom (youtube video problems) as this bug was in the begging.
So in summary:
1) Bug as described was present for all audio and flash video.
2) Was fixed in
The Pulse Audio option is till not available for Amarok, however the
auto detect option is now working for me but only because its using
alsa.

I attempted Barteq's fix... it didn't work. So I wiped and installed the
beta version of hardy. It all seemed to go fine. But this bug is still
happening with Amarok /youtube . I even went under the sound properties
and switched everything to pulse audio. Still the exact same behavior.

I can confirm this bug on my laptop under hardy alpha 6. I have the
bcm4318 card. If i use the restricted hardware manager and enable the
driver it downloads and installs fine but does not work even after a
