The patch posted doesn't download as a .tar.gz correctly. Could you re-
post and make sure that when it is downloaded that it correctly
uncompresses? Thanks.

As Moraus said, after disabling KMS the problem goes away. You can
disable KMS by adding "nomodest" in your grub (/etc/default/grub) file
like this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset"
It'll make the boot splash screen not look at nice, but at least your
computer won't randomly c
I disabled KMS but the problem still occurs. The crashes cause data
loss occasionally so getting this bug fixed would be very nice, indeed.
This doesn't happen on the two other PC machines I've installed Lucid on
so it must be something specific to Macs. It may be related to

I have a similar issue where I'll have a sudden freeze for a few seconds
and then a reboot. This happened in the 32-bit version as well. This
happens at least once a day. I ran Karmi
