I unfortunately installed Beignet after invoking the nvidia driver, then
I had problems vith Nvidia so I reverted to nuevo graphics, but the
problem persist!

I think its the new kernel, because the inbuilt command dd results in
the same errors when trying to reclaime after use, or when we use
gparted during installation, trying to set bs do not seem to make any
difference!!

It's the same in Ubuntu Studio, but when it downloads you are getting
the mowies HTML page named .tar.gz instead of .html - but no subtitles.
All the checkboxes are there as they used to be, but they dont respond
to checking!!
