commands led to "Could not determine the package or source package name"
or "Please use ubuntu-bug to report a bug against the

Show updates and initially update manager displayed dialog with the
following:
Could not initialize the package information
An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package
information.
As of March 4, 2012, on Ubuntu 11.10 this is not fixed
