I agree, it would appear to have got worse. For me, this only appeared with
Gutsy and I've been using Ubuntu from Dapper onwards with this same Seagate as
a secondary hard drive.
I plan to test Hardy Alpha 2 on the second PC that now uses this Seagate drive
in the New Year, hopefull

up and running again in the new year and will gladly test the new kernel
(sooner if time allows).

Following the success of the previous post I decided to re-install Gutsy
from the live cd and submit the 4 log files without the fix to the grub
menu.lst in the hope it may isolate the problem.
As an aside, I was only able to successfully boot the live cd by

I confirm this bug and just added an Open Question #16234. My details:
I upgraded Feisty to Gutsy but found Gutsy reboot hung with the message:

After having scoured the forums for the past two days, I finally
stumbled upon the simple solution he gives above. The default locations
written into /etc/fstab seem to generally follow the partition structure

across the screen! Testing it with the Gimp was a joy - pressure

Like CoolkcaH, mine doesn't work either - I get the same 'wacom: disagrees
about version of symbol struct_module' report after having tried all
suggestions.
Very frustrating!
The pen is usually mightier than the mouse but in this instance the pen just
don't work!
