Public bug reported: 'E:Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (5 Input/output error), E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.' I'm working with Mythbuntu 9.04. The system suggested an update for the system and I ok'ed it. It should have been a smooth process
