in systemd-resolve --status or /var/run/resolv.conf or /etc or any of the other
usual places; I don't have time to go digging so I shove stuff in /etc/hosts

It does NOT matter what the underlying issue is. The suggested fix,

On jaunty this patch fixes the import xpath module error - by tweaking
/usr/lib/openerp-server with bernard-sauterel's env fix above to tell

Removing the nz from the apt urls seems to do the trick, but updates
come from the main ubuntu archive. So, that's changing:

If you are getting high CPU usage from pulse, change the resample method
in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to a less CPU intensive algorithm:
resample-method = src-sinc-fastest
See if this works for you. My CPU dropped from 2-5% CPU to pretty much
below the background noise.

Just updated to latest intrepid updates (network-manager-pptp
0.7~~svn20081015t024626-0ubuntu1) and I still can't connect to any of my
previous PPTP VPNs, no matter what I do with the password. Output of
/var/log/syslog says this when connecting with password stored in the
config:

Not fixed for me, after upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid. I'm currently
running with amd64 arch, and all most recent updates:
sound-juicer 2.24.0-0ubuntu1
linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic 2.6.27-7.12
lspci reports:

I have a similar issue. I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid and my PPTP
VPN connections stopped working. They still don't work. This is BAD (TM)

Cool - just that I had this problem in Gutsy, where the only solution
was to /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon stop before launching epiphany (see
attached dup 159141). The problem disappeared when I apt-get dist-
upgraded to hardy.
