I can confirm this problem on my setup too.
This is a severe regression from hardy. The excellent functionality
provided by pand et al was fairly simple to set up and use. And it
worked. The new dbus configuration method obscures everything unless you
know the dbus system and command line options.
Confirm this fix works in bluez-utils 3.26-0ubuntu6 on amd64. I have my
pand and hidd back :-) Thanks!

Surely this bug ought to be assigned a high priority because the current
version for Hardy COMPLETELY breaks previous behaviour with absolutely
no notification or documentation as to how to fix the problem via
another mechanism.

Guys,
Thanks for the clarification on the correct process for handling bug
status. Apologies for causing trouble. It just seemed like a lot of
time had passed since the fix had been done and there were still
broken packages hanging out there in "stable" releases waiting for
attention. I didn't wa
This bug is still present in Edgy, and therefore presumably in Dapper too. I've
just had to manually correct all the python2.3 links on my edgy amd64
installation.
We need the backport to Edgy!

Hi Richard,
I can't comment on Feisty because I'm still using Edgy.
I'm very happy for the bug report to be closed for Edgy.
However, I feel that there needs to be a confirmation of the bug's
resolution for Dapper before this report is closed. The reason being
that Dapper is LTS and the expe
Hi,
The Gnumeric "About" box works fine now for me. However, I'm no longer
using Dapper (amd64), I've updated to Edgy (amd64). The Gnumeric
version I'm using is the edgy standard 1.7.0.
Gnumeric in Dapper was really quite flaky for me, there were a number
of weird issues. I mentioned the colour t
