When upgrading from precise to quantal via apt-get dist-upgrade the
upgrade process ends with error(1) and new kernel package isn't
configured. I believe this can lead to unbootable system (not verified
because I did a quick'n'dirty workaround - see below).

I have got a bit different problem with battery info on HP notebook but
it may have the same root cause.
I use acpi -V and new battery applet in Gnome system tray to monitor the
battery state and it works fine. If I suspend to disk and then resume
with different AC-present state the acpi command a
