With intel-microcode 3.20151106.1, my laptop is fine
With intel-microcode 3.20180425.1, Xorg crashes with SIGABRT in

I attempted to change my I/O scheduler on the server to deadline as in
post #29 above. I even added "elevator=deadline" to grub and rebooted,
then confirmed the shared drives were indeed defaulted to deadline,
however there has been no noticeable change in the response.

Yesterday I swapped my 100Mb server NICs for new Gbit NICs (RTL-8169).
I have been running lucid on 2 machines for about a month, and the last
machine was upgraded about 3 months ago. The NIC upgrade was the only
