I've been trying to find an answer to why the scroll wheel doesn't work
and this is the closest thing to it.
Scrolling with the mouse wheel in Chromium, terminal, LibreOffice works
normally. It jumps more than I'd like, but it scrolls after one notch
(you can feel the notches as you scroll).

This is not a bug. There is an issue with my router.
I'm using DD-WRT and it is set to client bridge which is performing ARP
forwarding. The ARP packets coming from the SIP phone are padded
(ethernet packet is 60 bytes) where as the ARP packets from the Ubuntu
desktop are not padded (ethernet pa

Public bug reported:
I believe basic networking would be in the linux-image package.
I have a computer running Ubuntu 12.04 Server that doesn't always
respond to ARP requests.
Over the weekend I installed FreeSWITCH on the server and configured a
SIP phone to register with the server. The phone
I upgraded (64 bit) from 10.04 to 10.10 and have a few problems - this
is one of them.
1) I insert blank CD-R or DVD-R and when Nautilus pops up a window I select
Brasero Disc Burner using default settings.
2) I choose File->Burn ISO... and then wait until process is complete and get
message.
3)
Attaching gpm.log - hope this helps.

It appears to have something to do with Skype and/or Empathy. Creating
a new user worked until I installed Skype and setup Empathy. If I exit
Skype and use the "Me" menu to set my status to "Offline", then shutdown
works.
The login screen "Shutdown" still just reboots or hangs (twice now).

I found a work-around. Create a new user and carefully move files from
one account to the other.
I only moved the directories that I was fairly certain weren't Gnome
related.
Shutting down from the user account now works. I didn't test shutting
down from the login page. Probably still not work
What does it mean "Triaged"? Does that mean I can modify my system to
get it to shutdown properly?
I click shutdown and it logs out. From the login screen I click
shutdown and it restarts. I have to turn it off manually when I see it
starting to reboot.

I replaced my laptop with a Dell Studio XPS and I'm running Ubuntu 10.04
and Firefox 3.6.8. I can now hear the full word.
Thank you.
I've given my old laptop to my brother. I'll see if he has upgraded to
Lucid and I'll ask him to try.

I see that I missed the "uri=" string. It takes a bit of time to
"preroll" but it eventually plays "crystal" (still chops off the "line"
part).

I have the same problem as the original poster and I'm willing to
provide any necessary debugging information. This bug has been here for
several Ubuntu releases (currently running 9.04). I work around the
problem by clicking "Click here to listen with your default audio
