While installing packages with synatpic the confirmation dialogs and
"Applying changes" dialogs steal focus from other applications. This is
bad for usability. Synaptic should flash in the windows list applet
instead.

I can reliably reproduce this on feisty as of the date of this comment.
The system logs in, gnome splashes and then the session load halts.
A quick ps x | grep esd shows

Actually this is my fault - I screwed something up while hacking at
GNOME.
Reinstalling fixed the issue.

When epiphany-browser is installed on Edgy Eft, it no longer shows up as
"Gnome Web browser" or "Epiphany" in the Preferred Applications capplet
as was the behavior on Ubuntu 6.06.
Only available options are Custom, W3M Text Web browser,
I can comfirm this also. This happens for me after the machine has been
up for 10 or so minutes and I loose ndiswrapper functionality (the
wireless card wont respond).
Turning off Hyperthreading functionality allows the machine to keep
running without issue.
