I re-checked this in Pinta 1.5 (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) and Pinta doesn't crash
any more - but the Circle Select tool does NOT allow copying to the
clipboard (and thus pasting from the clipboard) although both the
"rectangle select" and the "lasso select" both work fine.

After upgrade to Ubuntu 13.10 I found that mirage - which I make a lot
of use of for image manipulation - freezes when I try to CROP or RESIZE
an image.
Since I just returned from a trip to China with 1,572 images to "clean
up" this has proved to be a very inconvenient issue

Update: it appears that the bug may be due to some kind of 'race
condition' between processes during boot.
After a later boot the icons 'popped back' to their 'proper' positions
(twice). They, apparently, hadn't lost any position information in the
interim, but have since returned to being drawn

Second time (I mean third time, after reboot ;-) was the charm.
I changed bug report to 'new' and the apport summary seems to be attached

I noted this problem when running Python3.2 and isolated it (apparently) to
tkinter <-> screen interaction.
I backed down to Python3.1 and still observed the problem.
I backed down then to 'python' (2.7.1) and observed it with Tkinter and the
display.
It seems to be pervasive and common to all ->

I appreciate your letting me know what the problem is.
Here I thought I would be some help in testing the pre-release Natty, and
now I find out it can't run Unity, the basic UI in VirtualBox.
I thought that was the whole point of running pre-release systems inside
virtual environments - allowing
The problem I have been trying to solve is I don't get the Unity left-side
dock, etc. and when I tried the unity --reset command it failed - which I
reported.
