i installed the latest unity fixes mentioned in the duplicate, and the
problem has been fixed. current uptime is 34 days with no issues. this
can now be closed. thank you!

Public bug reported:
with 100% regularity after approx 24 days and a few hours uptime, the
application panel on the left of the screen "crashes" and becomes
completely unusable.
i cannot tell if this is compiz or unity or something else causing the
issue.
in the enterprise environment i work in
fyi, i installed from the alternate disk, not the desktop disk. what did
everyone else do?
perhaps thats why this bug is not seen so frequently?

this bug has resurfaced after some updates recently. i believe they were
Xorg related.
now, intermittently after I suspend and resume my netbook, I get this:
top - 12:54:05 up 2 days, 15:00, 4 users, load average: 3.24, 1.98, 0.99
Tasks: 206 total, 2 running, 204 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zo
this is pretty embarrassing in a corporate environment, can this get
looked at soon? please? can we help provide any further info?

Hi Jmadero, how did you change easytag to id3v2.3? Mine says in the
about-extensions dialog box that id3v2.3 writing support is disabled,
but I can't see how to enable it. thanks.
