reboot
ran in to that same issue
fresh install of 24.04.1 on the same desktop

I just left my laptop on all day while i was at work.
ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous hibernate and prevented it from
resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have
appeared to have completed normally.

a quick fix to work around the bug
was to add the following to xorg.conf
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Monitor "Configured Monitor"
Device "Configured Video Device"
Option "DPI" "96 x 90"
Option "UseEdidDpi" "false"
I did stop/start to GDM with my Olevia 27 connect and here is what is in
my xorg
DPI set to (812, 866) , 10 x what it should be

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 last night
If I reboot or stop/start GDM with 27 in fonts are so huge that it's unusable
if I login

I didn't have this issue with
other system sounds still play while this happens

start a mp4 with totem ( double click on a video with sound )
now double click on another video with sound ( mp4 ) and here is no sound for
like 30 seconds
if i click on 3 videos , one after another, without closing totem my
logs show this
I tried turning off and back on my pre/pro+amp ( Yamaha DSP-A1 ) that
didn't work for me nor did rebooting my computer.
Since PCM via spdif should get send at a fixed clock rate, I think the
computer side might go out of of sync since when it brakes. Just running
"speaker-test -D spdif -c 2" fixes
look under /home/.../.cache/ and /home/.../.cache/sessions

What codecs do you have installed?
I don't remember removing any codecs the only thing I remember changing
was that rhythmbox updated to a newer version.
all these stations play fine in totem so I have to have the right ones
installed or do I?
