I tested with the mainline kernel. As long as I let do not use ldap in hosts
property of nsswitch.conf, the kernel boots. If I add ldap, then the system no
longer boots. I don't think it is a kernel problem anyway. It guess is some
kind of upstart problem.

With the current kernel (the one I used when reporting this bug) I cannot boot
and the boot process is halted before sshd is started, so I cant even login
over network. Not even CTRL+ALT+DEL is working to reboot. I have to press the

Here on Ubuntu 12.10 (apparmor-2.8.0-0ubuntu5) I got
Open a socket for LPF: Permission denied
when starting dhcpd, quite strange.
I got the hint in the #ubuntu-server irc channel to remove inet and one packet.
After that it worked.
