i've experienced the same bug...
the wifi hw lost after some hours activity with the same 'MAC is in deep
sleep!' messages. :(

unfortunately i've experienced the same bug.

the stable 'precise' version kernel...

the wlan connection dropped after few hours just like with the mainline
"precise" version kernel. :(
there's a warning message in syslog during the wlan crash:

I also have this issue on Karmic (amd64) after an upgrade. Before Karmic
I hadn't. dpkg --clear-avail doesn't help.
