Summary: a feature is not working: copy/paste works initially as
expected but then fails.
Kubuntu 18.04 host and various other Ubuntu 18.04 and 18.10 flavors as
guest.
I don't see any slowdown but copy/paste initially works between host and guest
(either way) and then stops working altogether

Tested on Lubuntu 18.04 and Lubuntu 18.10:
Install compton-conf in Lubuntu 18.04. It is present by default in Lubuntu
18.10.
The entry in Menu > Accessories is "compton". Clicking on it does
nothing.
The corresponding .desktop file in /usr/share/applications is compton.desk
