I have the same problem on a GeForce GT 220, running 302.17 Ubuntu 12.04 and I upgraded to that (from 10.04 originally). A manual 'sudo start lightdm' works perfectly, so I guess X tries to start before the Nvidia kernel module is loaded. This happens on almost every boot. -- You received this
