The package has been tested to see if it fix the crasher and it does :)
Unit tests pass without any failure and this package is already present in a
PPA since a week to be able to heavily test it against applications u

Actually this is the fix that is available in the PPA. You mixed up the two
code.
Before it was a VBox cast now it is a Box cast (Box being the super-class of
VBox).
I'll try to put in 12.04 too since this is a quit important crasher.

4.1.2 should be out before Precise and I'm going to make it uploaded in
Debian as soon as it will be out. Still, I don't have a date for the
release. It could be in few days or in few weeks...
The patch isn't complicated. It's a 3 lines patch which has been already
commited in the Bazaar repositor
