Also, if it really proves it's a bug in Firefox, it's definitely not
this one. After proper research, if you're sure FF causes that and a bug
should be reported, pls search in Bugzilla for an eventual preexisting
bug report. If there isn't, pls open a new one.

Got the same problem, my system is a Dell Vostro 1400 with a HDA Intel
Sound card and the 2.6.24-11-386 kernel.
The problem fixes by imputing "alsa reload" after killing all the
programs that are using sound.
