Title:
[needs-packaging] LibreOffice Productiv
I installed Libreoffice from PPA in Ubuntu 10.10 and now I can't get
Slovenian dictionary to work. I reinstalled the myspell-sl package just
in case but that didn't work either. When I press F7 I only get the
"Spellchecking complete" message and the language drop-down list seems
to be empty.

One more thing.
The mic on my headphones still does not seem to work.
The headphones play sound without problems though.
I tried
$ amixer set 'Mic',0 100% unmute
But that didn't help.

Ok, I finally found my card's (Creative SB Audigy/SE) manual.
Since I have a 2.1 speaker the only system only the green connector is
applicable (Front Left/Right). That's the only output device that's hooked up.
I have analog speakers, so I doubt Digital Source will work (I tried, it
didn't). I
Could you help me with the syntax?
When I do
$ amixer -c 0 -- sset Master,0 playback unmute 100%
I get:
Simple mixer control 'Master',0

Playback channels: Mono
Limits: Playback 0 - 255
Mono: Playback 255 [100%] [0.00dB] [
I get this:
$ amixer
Simple mixer control 'Master',0
Capabilities: pvolume pvolume-joined pswitch pswitch-joined penum
Playback channels: Mono
Limits: Playback 0 - 255
Mono: Playback 204 [80%] [-12.75dB] [on]
Simple mixer control 'Line in',0
Capabilities: cvolume penum
Capture channel
Did a fresh reinstall - I also formatted the /home partition.
No dice.
The sound doesn't work on LiveCD either.
It still works on Win7 though.

Another clue:
I did the following
$ rm -rf ~/pulse
$ rm -rf ~/.gstreamer-0.10
$ sudo /sbin/alsa force-reload
I head short quiet buzzing sounds coming from the speakers.
I also hear that sound if I do
$ killall pulseaudio

Binary package hint: alsa-utils
I can get no sound out of my speakers. The modules are loaded, the
speakers unmuted, and really I'm at a loss as to what else to try, See
bug #669309 where I already posted a few logs. My system is up to date,

ALSA so I can fix this permanently?

Good for you :-) Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. Does
that mean I have to file a separate bug?

[CA0106 - CA0106] no sound from anything ubuntu 10.10

I have installed ubuntu 10.10 and am having the same problem as Josh
Benner. If I install gnome-do, I get a gnome-keyring password prompt,
and then the same problem as described above. The system freezes,
although I can still move my mouse. I had to remove gnome-do until this
issue is resolved :-(
So why doesn't ubuntu release new alsa packages with the offending line
removed?
