I unistalled nautilus in synaptic, which asked to unistall also:
gnome-session
ubuntu-desktop
nautilus-share
furiusisomount
When i tried to install again these packages synaptic asked to install
also:
rhythmbox-ubuntuone
Same as this bug save for the fact that instead of the package:
package python-pyatspi 1.28.0-0ubuntu1
it is in the package:
package python-pyatspi 1.29.5-0ubuntu2

Same problem for me in a Toshiba Satellite a105, Karmic.
I get sound from flashplayer. I even tried audiotester.sh and it gives me sound
telling me I just have to adjust the Master and PCM in a mixer, but no success
after trying it.
Please help!!!

Even after reinstall it didnt launch.
It fixed, however, after running gnome-do --debug

It was my fault. Due to a incompletely uninstalled, previous installation.
