The error is probably the consequence of an upgrade 13.04 13.10 which
was on hols and thta I stopped by rebooting. The system is now 13.10
with some glitches. I'll try to reinstall the Python package.

After further investigations I am not convinced thta it is comin from GPARTed
but rather a doomed disk. Evry time I could acees it with the live CD and disk
utility SMART Datathe number of bad sectors was grater than the previous check,
disk utility was even mentionning disk will soon fail o
