It's a vanilla install, I haven't setup any custom colour profiles or
even enabled night light. I will keep using the setting thank you. Was
just hoping to help improve hardware support for new installs. Both
screens are 4k HDR capable though. Not sure if that plays a part.

I can reproduce it by turning off my computer and then directly logging

Sorry about the wrong tag. This running x-server session but not sure if
you would like logs with wayland mode? Just let me know what sequence

I don't know if this is related but that driver is used on a terminal
that did not want to initialise the x server correctly.
Since blacklisting the driver it works, but streaming video from the
terminal sever no longer works, only a black box is observed then the
video player quits.

My web cam used to work fine in 8.04 but in 8.10 it stops working

Just to rule out an upgrade I booted with the Live Cd (amd64) and setup
my network printer using the default C5020N driver in the list.
I tried it before the fix and after. Looks to two different error

This is also a problem for me, I use the Vodafone Mobile Connect Driver
for my 3G card, but nm still thinks i'm offline. Maybe nm should detect
a ppp connection going up instead of trying to control the connection
and at least give access to vpn.

Yes, I have already done so as Openoffice already gives me that option
from the driver settings. I have selected the option: "Duplex Unit".
The print dialog does not reflect this change in the Two-sided option

I solved to problem by reinstalling the Nvidia driver. It seems the
upgrade changed something in the Nvidia files. The Nvidia uninstall
notified that a symbolic link was not found when the driver was
uninstalled.
