I just installed the 19.10 server iso and the machine doesn't use the
DNS server provided through DHCP.
As a workaround I had to:
$ sudo rm /etc/resolv.conf
$ sudo ln -s /run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

I have the same problem in gnome. vlc crashes both typing vlc in a
terminal. When I click the vlc icon in" Applications/Video/VLC media
player" menu nothing seem to happen.
Removing the config files in .local/share/vlc/ and .config/vlc/ didn't
work for me.
