(I had the same / a similar problem of 8.04 working but 8.10 not w/ my
Radeon HD 2600 (RV630PRO) connected to dual DVI dislpays. Neither
radeonhd nor fglrx worked for me, both kind of crashed at Xorg start.)

I have the same problem in OO 2.4.1-ubuntu2.1 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.
I want to use font replacement for a (corporate-identity) font i don't
have installed (and can't easily download it as i am not an employee),
but is used in an imported PPT presentation. I can define the
replacement, but it doesn't
Critical indeed. I agree w/ Stephan: As bugfix release, this should make
it into mainstream ubuntu. I would love to see this also in the 8.04 LTS
release.
