Solution worked also on my Y50-70.

I wonder what ist done to prevent any other Lenovo über to run into that
issue. As it is not yet sure if this issue can be solved, Canonical
should do something to make sure that no other Lenovo owner installs or
updates to 17.10, no matter if it's their fault at all.

During my work with linux-phc I noticed that some combinations of Intel

The problem is somewhere within the ACPI subsystem that decides that the

I would like to find the exact reason. Any suggestions?

Jaunty amd64 kernel reboots when loading device drivers
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bug
Public bug reported:
Fresh installed Jaunty amd64 (2.6.28-9) reboots shortly after boot. The
i386 version runs perfectly.
The reboot happens quite after the message "loading device drivers" but not
exactly at the same time each time I try so it is not possible to say what
module is causing it.
Confirmed here , resulted from a Partial Upgrade to Jaunty this morning
(Sat Feb 28 c.a. 12:00 UTC). Affected just Deluge (for me).

In response to Stefan Bader's post :

Do you want me to test without this line ?
Here is my dmesg | grep force
Hello,
i find this bug a very critical one, since new {linux, ubuntu} users won't
search deeper if their network interface don't work.
They won't search in the launchpad or in google for a fix.
They may continue using ubuntu even if some application doesn't work in the way
they want it to, thinkin
I had the same problem with embedded nForce NVIDIA network controller.
The fix consisting in putting "options forcedeth msi=0 msix=0" in in the
interface file (and then "sudo update-initramfs -u") worked for me as well.
thank you :)
