I finally gave up with ubuntu studio and switched to fedora which is a
distribution I'm more familiar with. I will still download the last live
cd and let you know asap.

Sorry for not reporting quickly, I was a bit busy these last week. I
tried to add Intrepid repositorry and install 2.6.27, and now I have an
error related to the firmware file "rt2x00lib_request_firmware". I think
I'm missing the linux-ubuntu-modules for these linux-images, but I

I have the same issue with a Linksys WMP54G Pci card. The driver is
rt61pci. I use Ubuntu Studio based on 8.04 and symptoms are the same.
