I have AMD 64 Live CD of yesterday build of Kubuntu Hardy. CD boots ok, but
after I select "Install Kubuntu" screen goes black for several minutes. During
these minutes CD drive and hard drive are active, indicating that some loading
process takes place. After about 3 minut

These new cheap, high-performance and really good models are more and
more popular now. They perfectly work with default drivers. But user
can't know that without going to forums, googling and so on. No "out of
the box" functionality

Possible compatibility
Seems to be amd64 compiler incompatibility issue, due to dnetc is
shipped as a binary. Workaround is to remove libnss-mdns package if you
don't need it.
